In accordance with Federate compliance checklist item 1, a federate must have a Simulation Object Model in the OMT format. In order to facilitate automated testing, the SOM will be tested using the Object Model Template (OMT) Data Interchange Format (DIF). The DIF is a standard file exchange format used to store and transfer object models between OMT development tools. If you use the Object Model Development Tool (OMDT) to create your SOM, save the object model as a .omt file. The current version of the OMT DIF for v1.3 is described in detail in Annex E of the OMT Specification v1.3.
